MTSU Aerospace had been nationally accredited
since 1992. The Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) has
accredited all five of the Aerospace concentrations!

Flight Labs
Students should download and print
the entire Lab Request Packet for each semester they are applying for.
The first two pages of each packet should be signed and then submitted
to the flight school secretary within the appropriate application
periods listed below. Late forms will not be accepted or considered.
Dr. Ferrara joined the faculty at MTSU in 1985. He earned his
Ed.D. in 1992 from the University of Kentucky . He developed the
approved curriculum for maintenance technology and served as the
coordinator of the FAR 147 Aero Maintenance Technology Program.
Dr. Ferrara teaches various flight and maintenance related
courses. In August of 1993, Dr. Ferrara was selected as the
Chair of the Department of Aerospace.
Since 1988, Dr. Ferrara has authored numerous publications and
co-authored the book, Aerospace Materials, published by
Kendall-Hunt.
In addition, he has received a number of faculty and
instructional development grants, faculty research grants, a
public service grant, and was nominated for the Outstanding
Teacher Award at MTSU in 1987. He received the Merit Award-MTSU
in 1994.
Dr. Ferrara is or has been a member of many public and
professional service organizations and has served on numerous
University committees. He is a member of the University Aviation
Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the
American Aviation Historical Association.
