since 1992. The Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) has
accredited all five of the Aerospace concentrations!

Flight Labs
Students should download and print
the entire Lab Request Packet for each semester they are applying for.
The first two pages of each packet should be signed and then submitted
to the flight school secretary within the appropriate application
periods listed below. Late forms will not be accepted or considered.
Dr. Prather joined the MTSU
Aerospace faculty in Fall 2006 and currently teaches in the
Aerospace Administration concentration. He earned a Doctor of
Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership and Higher
Education, with an emphasis in Aviation Education, from the
University of Nebraska in 2007. In 1997, Dr. Prather completed a
Master of Publication Administration degree in Aviation
Administration from Southern Illinois University. He earned his
Bachelor of Commercial degree in Aviation Management from Delta
State University in 1994.
During college, Dr. Prather participated in a one-year
cooperative education program as a Flight Coordinator with
Federal Express in Memphis. During completion of his Master’s
degree, Dr. Prather was selected for a two-year internship in
Airport Operations at Tampa International Airport. Prior to the
completion of this internship, he was promoted to Assistant
Director of Operations, a position in which he served for the
next 8.5 years. In total, Dr. Prather enjoyed ten years at Tampa
International Airport.
In addition to serving as an Associate Professor of Aerospace at
MTSU, Dr. Prather is an Accredited Airport Executive, an
instrument-rated private pilot, and an FAA-certificated advanced
and instrument ground instructor. Dr. Prather serves as the Dean
of the American Association of Airport Executives AAAE) Airport
Certified Employee (A.C.E.) Program, as well as member of the
Academic Relations Committee. He is active in the University
Aviation Association (UAA), serving as chair of the UAA
Curriculum Committee and is also co-chair of the Aviation
Accreditation Board International (AABI) industry-educator
forum. Dr. Prather enjoys conducting research on distance
learning, experiential learning, airport operations, and
specialized accreditation of collegiate aviation programs.
